| Taiki's smile immediately faded. "Become what, Dad?" He asked dryly, raising an eyebrow. "Dependant? I don't care what my family does with their powers, but I refuse to throw away my pride just for power. I told you, I'd be relying on an external source if I used a Hollow Mask to augment my strength. I'd have to pretend that I destroyed my enemy alone, although it was the truth that I was actually fighting together with a Hollow. It.... just doesn't seem right to me."

| "....Dad, I'm being serious here." Taiki's gaze grew impatient. "If I'm protecting someone, I'd like to actually say that I was the one who did it, me and my own strength alone. If I overcame and defeated an opponent who was destined to beat me a thousand times, I could easily say with pride that my power, not some Hollow's, was able to do it. If you can't understand that.... then please drop the discussion, so we can get back to training."
